How hard will a G2020 bottleneck a Gtx 750 Ti?

I'm planning to get a I5 and a Gtx 750 Ti but not both at a time so I don't know if I should buy the gpu now and have it bottlenecked for a while until I buy the cpu or the other way around.

Solution
a i5 is a bit too strong for a 750ti though.

You should just wait and save up the money for an i5 and 960 together at the same time.

A g2020 probably "would" bottleneck a 750ti, but if it's only temporary it kinda doesn't matter.

If you buy the i5 now you'll have lower immediate game performance, but if you buy a 750 ti now you'll still be kinda meh when you get the i5. I have a 750ti and I like it but it's not in the same class as an i5, it's better suited to an i3.

I'm also thinking about buying a 270x but I'm worried about the power consumption as I only have a 500W psu. Would that be a better idea?

There is also no such a thing as an i5 "being too strong" for a 750 Ti. That would just create a bottleneck on the GPU side. All an i5 would do would take away any potential CPU bottleneck. But the 2020 you have is fine with a 750 Ti as both are entry level.

Saying that buying an i5 would "have lower immediate game performance" is completely incorrect. Game performance would increase in games that are CPU bound. There would certainly not be any decrease in performance.

So basically that whole post is wrong. Upgrading to higher end parts does not hurt performance anywhere.

Well if he's upgrading to an 750ti, whatever he has can't be very good, so getting an i5 before a better GPU wouldn't really help much. And I meant lower performance as opposed to getting a 750ti first, a new GPU would have more noticeable impact than a new CPU at his system's hardware strength level.
