[SOLVED] How high is safe DRAM voltage for ryzem.

I'm kind of second-guessing myself. How high is too high for dram voltage on 1st generation ryzen?

My ram is stable at 3333mhz with 1.4v and its been stable for months, but im greedy. I tried 1.43v and 3466mhz, and it boots fine, but fails benchmarks.

how any errors u get in memtest? if only few once a while, try rise main timings

usualy toying with other stuffs is usefull only if u cant POST or u get hundreds/thousand of errors in metest within few seconds (unstable link)
if link is stable and u get only few errors here and there, then start with main timings

It doesnt take long to error.

Currently 40 ohn doesnt post, but 48 does.

I have know idea what this stuff does btw. Tooke me awhile to find that setting.

43.6 ohm is the lowest that will post. It blackscreened in windows tho. 48 didnt.

Im running 3200mhz c16 with 1.36v rn as i had to clear cmos.

Im actually using prime 95 large fft to test. Once it seems stable ill run memtest for awhile.

so 48, not really great...3466 should be your mainboard limit

use 53.3ohm for 3400~3466 (just in case your mb bios doesnt do that)

What is the voltage you suggested for the CLDO_VDDP?

Even really relaxing timings, 1.4v, and setting that value to 53 it doesnt run stable.

sometimes relaxing timings will make it worse
whats your timings? (all timings)
preferably write your xmp timings + what mainboard setups

Here is all of the timing/clock info.

This is stable enough for normal usage. Web browsing, youtube, are stable. Aida64 mem stability test fails. Prime 95 large FFT fails.

well u should go with memtest, that way ull see how many errors u get, if changes are improving it or making it worse

as far as your timings go...
tWR should be 10 or 12
tRTP should be from half tWR up to 12 (if twr its 12 then min is 6)
your twr is 26 atm (which is slow for your refresh)

another inconsistency is tRFC 443 while tRC is 80
tRFC is multiple of your tRC (from 6 up to 8)
so if we say tRFC is 443, then tRC can be within 55 ~ 74 range

tCWL should be same as tCL

I tested my settings in memtest and got 100 errors in the first dew seconds, so i cancelled it.

I applied your latest advice and managed 87 errors after 1 pass.

I increased soc voltage to 1.2 and the ram to 1.42 and it gives no errors in memtest.

Ill try tweaking voltage around.

This is stable in memtest and other tests, but the 1.42v is a little high. The tweaks helped as it wasn't stable even at 1.42v earlier.

Anything I missed or you think I can change to get it stable at 1.41 or 1.4v?

if ure in need of reducing voltage, then increase CL timing (to 20 or 22)
and increase tRAS alongside tCL by same value (+2/+4)
no other subtiming chnges needed (as u have headroom there)

And 1.2v is safe for SOC?

I dont want to reduce performance, so I'm happy where its at now. Running games and everything seems great.

1.42 isnt anything drastic, it will just reduce lifetime of your stick a bit if your stick overheats (touch heatsink)

1.2 for SOC is ok, but dont go over it, theres no improvement in doing so

"SOC voltage is the voltage to the IMC and like with Intel, it's not recommended to leave it on auto. You typically want 1.0 - 1.1v as above 1.1v doesn't help much if at all.

V-SOC powers the iGPU on APU's. That suggests it might have benefits when overclocking the GPU.
