So i was looking through the toms guide to bottlenecking and i noticed my CPU is said to bottleneck my GPU in extreme situations. For me this extreme situation is GTAV.

How high should i go to fix the bottlenecking? 4.3-4.5Ghz?

How did you come to that conclusion?

I don't think that a 4690k would bottleneck 1070 in any situation at stock corespeed.

You could try to monitor your GPU usage with MSI Afterburner, Evga PrecisionX or other GPU tweaking tools.
If it hits 100% usage in GTAV, then there is no bottleneck.

It literally says in the TomsHardware bottlenecking guide that in extreme situations i could be bottlenecked. Which seems to be the case here because i get the performance of i3-6100 benchmarks.

It says in the worst case scenario i will get bottlenecked. That is what the pink colour means, thats what the guide says anyway.

It lines up with what has been happening to me. i get a bunch of performance issues that just dont make any sense. Maybe its just something with my system but ive been trying to figure this out on and off for around 6 months and haven't found a solution.

I understand overclocking is easy, i was just wondering if anyone knew the number i should go up to since it would save me some time.

If not then no problem :D
