Will a Thurmalright SLK700 with a smartfan do the job...

I'm curious myself. It seemed to do Ok on stock cooling but then I didn't run it hard for very long. I'm going to get one where the multiplier is locked. I wouldn't mind burning that one too much.

SK7 i'm not sure with smartfan would do the job(never used one myself), i know smart case fan 2 would do the job.

i have a thermalright SLK900-A and a vantec 92mm fan and mine runs at about 48-49 deg C under load.

I actually ordered a SLK900A to replace my SLK700, but I will miss it... the SLK700 is hardy, and it feels good in my hand not like the stock heatsinks...

i am running a 2500 barton at 2200mhz and my temp never goes above 42C while loaded, and thats with the stock heatsink and fan that came with the processor from AMD, i have one 80mm case fan in the rear and one 60mm fan in the side window panel, i did have to up my power supply from a 300 watt to a 450 watt to get it to be stable, but thats fine :) post screen reads 3200+ :) thats all that matters in the end!

Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go through life Son.

Well that depends on how high you had to up your voltage. Mine is at 50c on the die at all times ,load or no load, and 35-40c on the socket.

Do you actually need your Vcore at 1.8 to get your fsb to 200... I am getting 196 with 1.7 no problem... my temps are low, too, with my SLK700...

Yep I do, Cranked it a little and got it to run and bench but had unexplained software corruptions. Bumped it up to 1.8 and have not ecountered such thing yet.
