How hot is 'too hot' for my CPU / mb? (Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 )

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 - At what temps should I actually be concerned?

Asking cause I'm trying to quiet the cpu fan by running only when really necessary. (Yes, I know about better cooling fans...will do that when I can afford it). Thanks very much!

i would say 65 and below is safe for 24/7 usage...

Remember that the Max TJ temp is the max it can withstand *Before* causing damage. If it doesn't go any higher than that then you can still use your system, but it will reduce the lifespan of the chip.
