How hot should sink feel?

I've got a Zalman 7000A-AlCu sink on my 2.6Ghz P4 running at 3.19Ghz. Idle
is around 30'C and CPU gets up to 42'C under full load. When the CPU is 42'C
the fins on the heatsink barely feel warm.

Is this cooler that good or is something else wrong?

I'm measuring the temps with MBM5 but have seen the same temps when using
the ASUS Probe software.

MB is an Asus P4C800E Dlx.

At this temperature, I would not worry about it. With any semiconductor, the
cooler it runs, the better off it is!

42C is only 5C over human body temp of 37C, or
108F, only 11F above body temp of 98.6F

By the time thermal energy has traveled from core to spread out
over heatsink to heat the air, indeed it may not feel very warm.

The cooler is fairly good but any decent cooler may have about
same temp at fin edges.
