Hi, just want to ask you guys if my method of choosing the motherboard for my build is correct. I usally have around $500 to spend whenever I need a new PC and compared to all the other parts except the optical drive, i usually choose the lowest tier motherboard from a quality brand. My reasoning is, I rarely overclock, I rarely upgrade and do not intend to use sli or crossfire. Sometimes i do upgrade the video card and memory, but those those upgrades dont require me to change motherboards. And my builds usually lasts for 4-5 years. On my last 3 builds i've only spent $40-$50 on gigabyte motherboards.

Yes your way is good for you cause why spent extra money for extra features you're probably never going to use.
And an extra tip always look at how many stars the product has and if it had good reviews.
