I'm looking at buying an aftermarket CPU cooler (specifically the Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH edition) to be mounted on my (Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P) motherboard.
However, on Gigabyte's website it specifies that the CPU cooler weight limit is 450g, and the Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH cooler is 625g and with the two fans comes in at 865g. I know that using the backplate will help distribute weight, but it is quite a lot higher that the given limit. Does the weight limit matter? Will I destroy my motherboard with this?
