Hi.
I would like to know how important it is to upgrade my motherboard? I'm thinking about buying a new graphics card and ram. Do I need to buy a new motherboard aswell? my current is approx 4 years old.

You are fine, that motherboard is up to date. Install that GPU and enjoy your games!
You can also add more RAM, but 16GB isn't used extensively in games. 16GB is mostly used for multitasking and video rendering.

If your current motherboard supports PCI-E 2.0 and DDR3, you won't need to buy a new motherboard.
Otherwise, you will need to buy older RAM (DDR2) and PCI-E 1.1 will bottleneck your GPU.

Also, what is your CPU? If it is too old, it will bottleneck your GPU as well.

I currently have:
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3
processor - AMD phenom(tm) ii x6 1090t processor 3.2ghz
RAM - kingston hyperx genesis ddr3 2x4gb khx1600c9d3x2k2/8gx

I was thinking about getting this graphics card: MSI N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC - Grafikkort - GF GTX 750 Ti - 2 GB GDDR5 - PCI Express 3.0 x16 - DVI, D-Sub, HDMI

And these RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz

Thank you for your help !
I am not going to upgrade my RAM if not needed, to get a more smooth preformance during listening to music and gaming at the same time.
