How is the Zotac GTX 1080 mini? And what PSU wattage do you recommend?

How is the temperature, noise, and performance compared to a regular 1080?

I can't get the regular 1080 because it won't fit in my case.

I'm thinking about getting an EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze PSU. http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=33_1238_442&item_id=063158

If you can recommend me a PSU on that site, I'll be glad.

1. 600W like on your link is enough for GTX1080. This PSU is also ok.
2. small GTX1080s are always a bit louder and a bit hotter. Performance should be the same until it starts throttling due to heat, they do tend to start throttling earlier than the bigger models. However, those are not in a point where you have to really start worrying about, those are just the limitation you have by using smaller cards. IF you do not have more space, this kind of cards will have to do.

If you aren't over clicking it and have decent case cooling you should be fine

At the expense of noise though which is unavoidable really.

You absolutely must have decent case cooling/airflow to run a card of this ilk though.

Even 550W from a good power supply is more than enough for a GTX 1080 + OC i7 8700k system.
The EVGA 600B is a mediocre PSU, not recommended for your system. You should be able to afford a better PSU, considering it's one of the most important components.
The Focus Gold 550 is currently a bargain. Other high quality power supplies include the EVGA G3, G2, Corsair RMx, Bitfenix Formula/Whisper.

If you can't afford any of those, atleast try for a Corsair CX550, Cooler Master MasterWatt, Corsair CXm.

No one can tell how often. There is many factors to that.
The throttling only happens after the GPU hits certain high temp. If you can cool it it correctly e.g. good enough air flow in the case and very good room temp, you should be able to avoid this.
It is just the small graphic cards hits that temp faster than the bigger brothers under the same bad cooling condition.
