I picked the i5-4670K there since my friend had an new extra one that he is selling me at that price. I chose the Silverstone case because it can fit a full sized GPU, which I will eventually install some time down the line. I have an SSD (got sucked into an amazon cyber monday deal XD) that I will be using to install the OS onto and will be using the storage to store movies and stream to other devices.
I was thinking of going with the Gryphon z87 because of Asus' wifi-go! capability that would allow my parents to control everything with their smartphones/tablets. They already control the receiver/TV with their phones/tablets. If you have any other suggestions, I would be open to them .
Questions:
-Do I need the gryphon armor kit or would the cooler master geminii M4 be good enough?
-What OS would you recommend? Between Windows 8.1 vs 7? And would I need the pro version of the OS or is the regular one ok?
-Is the WD Green a good HD or is there anything else you would recommend?
-For the BD player, does it matter if it is OEM or not?
Approximate Purchase Date: I am planning to buy the parts today or tomorrow.
Budget: ~1200
Additional comments: Mainly for movies/streaming and upgrading to steambox down the line. Would want it quiet.
Thanks in advance for your help!
