Hi all! Hope you're all doing well!

I'm looking for opinions and suggestions for a system I'm planning.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/p6Lm9G

I plan to use this system to help me with my animation and game design course, but more importantly to play games with my friends. I tried to hit a balance in the mid-range area of PC parts without surpassing my £1500 budget.

Solution
Changed the cooler, the fortis 3 outperforms the 212 to such an extent they're incomparable, swapped to the best value b550 board I could find, swapped out to rgb ram (it is a little slower) but you seem to have a penchant for rgb.

Removed those extra fans, you absolutely do not need them and you don't have enough board headers anyway without buying splitters.

Changed to an nvme boot drive, same model I own, solid, fast, no issues with thermals

The antec psu is easily worth the extra £20

Motherboard: ASRock B550 Phantom...
You don't need the aftermarket cooler. Try the stock out and if you're left wanting more, add that amount after building the system. If not, then the money is saved. I'd get an NVMe SSD instead of the WD Blue SSD. Are you open to us tweaking your build...? Overall it's good but I see a possibility with having a smaller build form factor.

I took the liberty to refine the build;

Smaller SSD is for OS, apps and game launcher(steam and what not) while the larger SSD is for the game library. The HDD will serve as you storage.

I'll think about the cooler. I'm worried about the system cooling, as the room I'm putting this system in can get hot. Plus, £50 isn't so bad, its going towards better efficiency (in theory).

In regards to tweaking, go ahead! As long as it is below £1500, I don't mind.

I'll pass on the form factor change. I have a LOT of space on my desk, a big case will help liven it up. Plus, I don't like cases with blocked fronts. Even when they have some air holes on the sides, it can't beat a mesh front.

Otherwise, Thanks for the help! I'm gonna take some of your PC parts and add them to mine, specifically the m.2 and the RAM.

You are right, I am a big fan of RGB, unfortunately for my wallet.
As tempting as it is, I can't down grade my RAM kit for RGB. Besides, it's the easiest thing to upgrade, so I'm probably gonna get RGB ram later down the line, same for the RGB fans (unless temps are terrible after I build it).

Fortis 3 looks good! Its slightly smaller too, so I'm 1mm more confident that it will fit into the case. I'm assume most RGB fans are compatible with MSI Mystic Light? I'm trying to buy components that are configurable through MSI's program for simplicity's sake (Hence why I opted for the MSI motherboard, case and graphics card).

Thanks for the suggestions nonetheless!

Yes the fortis 3 sits lower but its actually a far more substantial cooler than the 212, its a 140 fan and block as opposed to 120mm.

Also offers zero ram interference because its offset.
The best cooler for the money in the uk imo.
I have a ryzen 7 that doesn't touch 60c under full stress testing with the same cooler.

I'm going to point you to a better case than the mag.

Has 2 x 200mm argb front fans, 1 x 120mm argb rear, mesh front and has a seperate fan/rgb controller than can either be controlled by remote or argb headers on your motherboard.
