AMD Phenom x4 965 BE is a better gaming cpu than 1045t. Native clock speed is higher and OC very well and most game can't use 6 cores. Today on Amazon 965 is only $80.

No reason to pay that kind of money on a rig for ridiculously outdated hardware. The GPU is OK but everything else should probably go.

This will be a little bit more but the i3-3225 and 7850 will be a far better GPU / CPU combination in the long run than the 965 will. Hitachi HDs are terrible and have high fail rates. No need for a 750W PSU on that setup.

Both the graphics card and processor you mentioned rank worst than the ones I listed according to pass mark. Also, I don't need storage space. I have a 1tb external. I would prefer an ssd for booting.

How do they rank worse? The i3-3225 and FX-6300 both perform on the same level. That pass mark is kind of a baseless benchmark. You don't really need to buy an SSD initially you can always add one later. Better to invest in a better GPU.

The radeon card you listed is ranked 20 where the one I listed is ranked 15. I think I would rather go for the athalon quad core honestly. The i3 is an older generation dual core, and also significantly more expensive than the athalon.
