How is this for a gaming RIG ???

Solution
Things to change
1) Get low profile memory like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233239

2) Get a 4gb Nvidia 680 or an AMD 7970 and don't waste your money on Sli.

3) Use that saved money on a larger SSD.
Like a Samsung 840 pro 256gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147193

or a Crucial M500 480gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-148-695&IsVirtualParent=1

4) Second the opinion of others on air cooling or a custom water cooling loop. Don't get a H100. If you go with a custom water cooling setup get your water cooling stuff from Koolance, EK, or Switftech or choose some from here

Lastly nice case...
1. If you want water cooling, get a custom kit, not the H* series from Corsair. They offer no advantages over a simple heatsink cooler and carry more disadvantages. Get a Noctua NH-D14 instead.

2. The motherboard is expensive, but if you must have it, then sure. An ASRock Z77 Extreme4 can work just as well.

3. 16GB is excessive for gaming. 8GB is enough. But if you need 16GB, then stick with it.

Would get this, seasonic platinum says all... 750w is enough for sli/crossfire

You want this motherboard, primary because of the looks i guess...

For playing games 2x4gb ram is enough...

2x hd 7970 is even better then 2gtx 680 ...
Microstutters can be solved easily, look internet

Hello.

Depends on the resolution. For Battlefield 3 @1080p and @1440p will have no problem even with two 660ti.

BF3_2560x1440_OFPS.png

For Crysis 3 more power is needed and maybe SLI GTX680 for 1440p is not enough but SLI 660ti is enough for 1080p:

:)

edit: Stay away from crossfire till AMD solve the issues.
ps: They have already recognised the problem and trying to solve it, we will see...
edit2: You can see a more detailed review of the issues at PCPerspective.

Lastly nice case choice on that NZXT Phantom 630.

Solution

again it has nothing to do with the graphics horsepower and more to do with the amount of vram. I can produces screen shots of b3 using well over 2gb of vram and up to 2.7gb of vram if you would like.

I know for Crysis 3 that can reach more than 2GBVRAM used at 4xMSAA or more but it seems that it doesnt effect the GK104 gpu's performance. You can see very well that it hasn't got any fps drop or spike from not enough VRAM.
But I would agree that more VRAM is better.
In the end he can wait to get 2x GTX770 4GB or the GK110 powered 2x GTX780 5GB (this might required a few bucks more).
And if rumors are true the OP should wait for Nvidia cause they will release the new GTX7xx in a few weeks or less...

edit: Haswell is also coming in sum nanosecs... 😛
