Hi everyone
I went to turn on my old desktop (2500k @ 4.6 GHz, Radeon RX 570) after a few months of not using it, and I heard a loud bang and saw a huge orange spark in my PSU before the circuit breaker tripped. I took out the PSU and no wires appear to be burnt like the last time I experienced PSU failure. I'm wondering if maybe any PSU protections like OVP/OCP were able to save my board. I'll have a new PSU to test it with by next weekend probably, to know for sure.
The particular unit was a Rosewill Quark 750W. I heard something being tossed around inside when I took it out of the rig.

Its possible for your motherboard to be alive, since they have some protection form overvoltage and things like that. Also the psu has overvoltage protection to save your components. Also if there is a problem, its probably only on the motherboard and hdd. You will know for sure only if you try it.
