[SOLVED] How likely is it to buy a monitor with dead pixels in 2021?

Solution
I have 2 monitors that are over 7 and 8 years old and no dead pixels yet.

That saying anything is possible, Murphys Law applies. 1080p has been around long enough, even 4k, so manufacturers have pretty much gone through and almost eliminated dead pixel possibilities.

You are much more likely to see a busted screen from shipping or DOA from a bad board than a dead pixel now.

I wasn't thrilled with my last LG. It was only a mid grade 1440x900, but at the time it was still somewhat expensive, and I expected it to last longer than 8 months.
LG was 2 companies, Lak-Hui and Goldstar. Lak-Hui was used to perfection being a Chemical company, and Goldstar made cheap junk electronics. After the merger Lucky Goldstar became LG. Still capable of seriously good quality stuff, much of their stuff ends up with too much of the old Goldstar influence. Imho.
