How long before Windows 10 becomes as popular as Windows 7 is now?

There are still a few thing in Windows 10 to address and I know that in time they will be. But how long do you believe it will take Windows 10 to become as popular as Windows 7 is now? I mean, in 2010 there were still a lot of people using XP and it's still a relatively popular MS OS now.

Microsoft is just collecting data to improve their future applications so they don't make another Windows 8. Unless you're some sort of criminal with evidence of it on your PC, I wont be so worried about their "spying". Personally, what I think they are trying to do is make a fresh start in the PC world by making Windows 10 the standard, it's much easier to have 1 OS on your hands than 4 to constantly update, etc.

Windows 10 will take a year or two to become popular, which is going to be much quicker than the other Windows operating systems due to their constant pressure to make people update and also their free upgrades. Windows 10 is just Windows 7 with updated looks.
It will never happen. People are catching on the MS BS tactics, bullying to upgrade and spyware incorporated into windows 10. Why do you think it's free? It's connected to MS servers 24/7 recording and uploading everything you do. Keep using windows 10, yeah...

And that same tech is backported into Win 7 & 8.
And, most people do not 'update' the OS. They buy a new PC, and use whatever it came with. New PC today = Win 10.

But then what will be the alternative after Windows 7 and 8.1 start losing software and hardware support like what's happened to all the old OS's? There will be no alternative but to use whatever MS chooses, which in this case will be Windows 10 and whatever BS they put on it.

If Linux had an easier to use interface AND could run ANY Windows games, then, and only then I would start using it. As it seems like it's not going to be the case any time soon, then I'll stick to Windows 10 and whatever BS MS decides to put on it.

I've never read(or heard) a better explanation of what MS is trying to do with Windows 10. I couldn't agree more.
