[SOLVED] how long can a cpu with very little thermal paste last

As long as cpu dosnt hit max temp to long???

Done correctly, "very little thermal paste" is what it is supposed to be.

If the thing reaches 95C+, you don't have enough, or it is improperly applied.
Turn it off.

Pastes are supposed to be thin enough you can almost read the writing on the cpu. As long as it spread evenly and covered the entire die surface, you are good. Use whatever software you use to read the temps of all individual cores. They should be within @ 10°C of coolest-hottest.

If they aren't, wait till the new paste arrives, clean it all up and repaste correctly.
