[SOLVED] How long can a PC last without thermal paste?

Could a PC last long enough to update the BIOS without using Thermal paste (and not damaging the CPU)? Talking about around 1-2 minutes without Thermal paste, with the heatsink on it

While there are probably riskier things you can do...I'm having a hard time thinking of one.

Updating the BIOS is risky enough in normal conditions. No thermal paste is just asking for a bricked motherboard.
