Yo guys, i am going to buy a new gaming rig but im wondering how many years i could play with this computer before I have to upgrade something, my rig is:

Case: CM Storm Scout II.
Case Light: Dual CCFL Caselight Red.
Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition.
Mobo: MSI Z77A-G43.
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K Ivy Bridge. (Overclocking to 4.5Ghz)
Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H80i (Liquid Cooling)
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance
GPU: nVidia GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5
SSD: 128GB Solid State Drive Samsung 830-series 128GB
HDD: 1000GB
Wireless Internet: ASUS PCE-N15 300N (300MB/SEC)
Optical Disk: Blu Ray RW 10x
PSY: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W 80+
OS: Windows 8 64Bit NL

Please answer if you know how long i can play games at high settings, and how long it will take to call it a slow computer (lol)

Yeah, you should be okay with 5 years if you are willing to turn down graphics settings in future games. If not, upgrading your video card somewhere down the line will be a viable option. When it comes to graphics cards there pretty much is no such thing as future proof. The 680 probably won't be able to maintain high settings for much more than 2 or 3 years unless you are playing at a low resolution. After that point, the 680 will still play games, you'll just have to turn things down to medium for the more demanding titles.

That wouldn't help you either, as the performance between those two cards are close, with a heavily overclocked 7970 being a bit faster. There is no single GPU that can last you five years on high settings. The closest thing that might do that would be dual GPU cards like the GTX 690 or Radeon HD 7990. However, that is only if the games you play properly support SLI or Crossfire, and if you don't run into any driver problems related to multi-GPU setups.

You're going to have to upgrade your GPU around the midpoint of that system's life, or accept lower graphics settings, there's now way around that.

hahah, i don't have that amount of money to buy a GTX 690 and i think it's better to upgrade instead of staying too long with the same gpu because it still is going to be outdated.
