well i recently bought a Ttesport Thermaltake non-mechanical(uses technology to make it feel mechanical) gaming keyboard and mouse combo... its decent so far and it has an led backlight on keyboard and leds on mouse... well the mouse doesn't turn off its led when i put my pc to sleep so that's always on... will the mouse led wear out soon if its always on? also how easily do keyboards and mice break? does stuff happen to them easily? do they scratch easily? im a bit paranoid because i just bought it and i want to know how long these things last and how easily leds wear out and how easily they scratch... i use my keyboard and mouse ina few games but in this one game i have called terraria i click a LOT so will that affect it a lot? i use my controller for most games though... i also use the mouse and keyboard for the internet... also here's the link to the one i bought... http://www.ttesports.com/productPage.aspx?p=187&g=ftr#.VSR9ue9FC70

Ever heard the old saying "they don't make 'em like they used to"? I'm still using an old IBM Model M Clicky keyboard patented back in 1984.

Yours should have lasted longer than it did.

The stuff you bought is mid-range however with maintenance and a little bit of luck your stuff should last you for years...

This keyboard gives me a feeling of nostalgia, it will probably last a lifetime.
I use Topre Realforce that is also good quality and made in Japan...

I hope you guys realize I made a typo back there... lol. Not really 1884. 1984 patent date. But the KB was made in 1992.
That old KB is as heavy as 4 modern ones. And solid as a rock.

I think that Dell KB may be what I'm on now. One of Dell's original Microsoft KBs. Says DELL by Microsoft in the upper right corner.

I Know lol I remember my friend bought an Original IBM computer with that keyboard...

Real Force, Filco, Happy Hacking and some other brands still make good keyboards however much more expensive then you average keyboard...

keyboards and mice usually say on the box about how many presses/clicks you should expect. so that should give you general idea. but in all honesty just take care of them and they should last for many years
