CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($119.98 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus H87M-E Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($95.00 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card ($185.66 @ Newegg)
Case: Zalman ZM-T1 MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($27.99 @ Mwave)
Power Supply...
on your build you put in a cheap power supply on a higher end gaming rig. and a non needed netowrk card as most new motherboards have one hard wired ethernet port. used the money for better power supply. the video card is fine for some games...would put in a 770 or one of the newer high end amd gpu or waitied for nvidia maxwell.
your bro pc is very weak for the price.

Its hard to say how long things will last because of how fast technology evolves.
I would recommend though if you are doing mostly gaming and not graphic design or video editing that you downgrade the ram to 8GB and upgrade the graphics card to a GTX 770 . That card is usually around $350 and is much better, not to mention it comes with AC4, Splinter Cell and Batman Arkham Origins

If you plan on running more than one monitor than go with the 4GB otherwise 2GB is fine.
