how long for AMD RMA?

My AMD CPU failed recently and since i want to get a replacement as soon as possible i was wondering if i should use AMD's RMA or the RMA from the site i bought it from which will take about 2 months
So yeah if AMD can replace my cpu in under 2 months ill probably go with that,if not then ill use the RMA form from my site of purchase.

Both will go to the same place probably, usually it takes a week to get there a week to come back.

you sure?because when i last time for a motherboard i used the rma form on the custompc.ie site and from when i sent it away to when i got it back it was like 2 months
(btw custompc.ie is where i bought the motherboard and cpu )

I've sent things to multiple companies and it took 2 weeks for all of them. AMD is generally a good company they should take it and send you a new one. If you really argue they won't give yo a 9370 but maybe free shipping. If you want to know how long call AMD customer service at 408-749-4000 ,or the people from where you bought it and ask, they will give you an honest answer.

Most manufacturers have a fairly quick turnaround for RMA.

Before they do anything they will test the component.

If they determine that the failure is QA related and the device is repairable, they'll send it to their repair department to do the dirty work. This can add about two weeks of overhead. They'll then test the repaired product and ship it back to you.

If they determine that the failure is a result of operation (not covered under warranty or QA) and the device is repairable, they'll invoice you for the repair and begin the repair process once the invoice is paid. This also adds about two weeks of overhead, but non-warranty repairs may be subject to lower priority. They'll then test the repaired product and ship it back to you.

If they determine that the failure is QA related and the device is not repairable, they'll ship a replacement out quickly. This can be much faster than a repair. The replacement may be new or refurbished.

If they determine that the failure is a result of operation and the device is not repairable they'll offer to ship it back to you, usually at your expense.
