How long will a GTX 780 be able to max out games

I was planning on going for the GTX 780 for gaming. How long will this card be able to max out all games?

You can max out games, yes, depending on the rest of your hardware.
Also, video cards from the upper echelon will be good for 1-3 years depending on tech advances.

Nvidia is going to be releasing some new cards very soon and their GK110 cards should come down in price a bit so if you could wait for that you may save some money. Just read they are releasing a GTX-750Ti very soon now.

MSI just came out with their 780 Lightning card that is faster than a stock Titan out of the box with no over clocking. It looks like hell of a card the way it is put together, massive power and cooling. 980/1033 MHz clocks and 16+3+1 Phase power design, TriFrozr cooler, there are two 90mm fans on the sides, with the one measured at 80mm in the middle, back plate, front plate. It is a beast in all respects. May want to take a look at this one.

How much of a price drop do you think it will be?

I have no idea at all. This is what I read so take it with a grain of salt or two of course. A GTX-790 is rumored to be released this year at under $1000, that would push down the price of the Titan and 780. I think the 780 is over priced right now anyway, $550 is where I would love to see it but I don't think it will go that low, but $600 is not too much to hope for at least.

That Lightning is around $770 but it is king of the 780 hill right now and most likely always be. But if you consider it gives Titan performance then it is worth it if you have the bucks. Yet a pair of 770s is cheaper and faster, but with 1 screen why hassle 2 cards. When the 790 comes out we will all know. The new 750Ti (not sure if it may be SE) will replace the 660 with a GK106 beefed up clocks with more ROPs and wider memory bus.
