How long will the GTX 960 last?

Title says it really, if I run games like Battlefield 4 on medium settings, would it last 1-2 years?

For medium details in 1080P easily
You will no need change GPU until new generation Console will not appear PSX 5 and new Xbox 😉

It matters on if you dont mind lowering settings on future games if they are more demanding. If u want a certain level of game quality maybe maybe not, but if u can deal with lowering settings as newer games come out then yes.

Probably about 2 or 3 years on medium settings at 1080p. I would expect it to last even longer if your resolution is less than 1080p.

BF4 will play maxed out at a reasonable frame rate mid 40's to 60 depending on what's happening providing you have a decent cpu.

When released most of the forum was extremely skeptical, the more I see it's performance in modern games the better I would feel about purchasing it.

On a budget a highly clocked i3 with a 960 is a pretty sweet combination.

Depends on the manufacturer more than anything. An MSI or Asus 960 will last five years or more.

Only 5 years? It had to have been older than that. I have/had a 8800gt that was purchased on the day of it's release I picked it up in 2010 and it's still plugging away.

A lot of mixed replies up in this piece.

No graphics card will last forever. But consider that there are people still gaming on old GT 640's from like half a million years ago.

The GTX 960 is a great card, and I predict it will be useful at 1080p for at least three to five years depending on the title.

Especially if Dx12 delivers all that it's promised so far.

Up until a few weeks ago I was gaming on a GTX 650 ti at 1400x1050. And it handled all my games at mostly high settings, including GTA V and Dragon Age Inquisition. Two very demanding games.

I recently upgraded to the GTX 960 in preparation for Fallout 4. And I absolutely love it. My only regret is that I didn't get the 4 GB model. (But it was $40 extra.)

Now I maxed out GTA V and Dragon Age, averaging about 55 - 90 fps in both games. I haven't had a chance to test 1080p, though, so keep that in mind.

Only 5 years? It had to have been older than that. I have/had a 8800gt that was purchased on the day of it's release I picked it up in 2010 and it's still plugging away.

I said over 5 years. dont know exactly. but wont display anymore. Its had its day. 8800 series was the greatest, blew everything away at the time of realease.
