Hello,

I've Intel i3 6100 and GTX 960 2GB SSC and I am going to buy a case today, so how many case fans do I need for this build? I'll be playing on this PC for many hours, so how many do I need?

Hi Avanis

For a basic gaming computer all you need is a back top fan that usually come with the case pre-installed and it is set to exhaust (so is sucking hot air out of the case) and then purchase 1-2 fans than can be put at the front of the case behind the front panel and you will put them so they are intake fans (sucks cool air in) .

A good way to check if a fan is blowing or sucking air is to float a piece of tissue paper in front of it and if it moves toward the fan then that is the intake side and of course...

A good way to check if a fan is blowing or sucking air is to float a piece of tissue paper in front of it and if it moves toward the fan then that is the intake side and of course then the other will be the exhaust side.

Also to add a PSU has a fan inside that is set to intake so you will place it depending on the case but you will want the PSU fan to be facing out of the case then the hot air will exit the back of the PSU which should again be facing out of the case.

Just so you know, a very high end gaming that is overclocked usually have:
-1 back top exhaust fan
-2-3 front intake fans
-1-2 top exhaust fans
-1 bottom intake

You only really need 1 back top fan and then 2 front intakes set to low-medium speed if your a casual gamer.

Regards
