How many Fan power connectors does the Z97a motherboard have?

Solution
No, it would only recognize one fan. I would use identical fan on the splitters. For example, I have two 120mm intake fans on my case. I use two Noctua NF-S12A PWM 120mm fans as my intakes. They are on a splitter to one 4-pin motherboard header, and show up as one fan. (The splitter is included with the Noctua fans.)

The cable indicates the fan which will be used for the PWM feedback.
The case Enthoo Pro has an integrated fan controller which you would mostly likely use which should be sufficient for the available space for fans for that case.
The ASUS Z97-A support 4 Chassis Fans.
You can plug a three plug into a four pin but it will run as a three pin header instead. No need for adapters.

That depends upon the motherboard. The motherboard that you linked has:

1 x CPU Fan connector (4-pin) for both 3-pin(DC mode) and 4-pin(PWM mode) CPU coolers control with auto detection support
1 x CPU OPT Fan connector (4-pin)
4 x Chassis Fan connectors (4-pin) for both 3-pin(DC mode) and 4-pin(PWM mode) coolers control

Wait, so if I used the fan controlling hub, would the motherboard and it's program(5-way optimization, I plan on using it to speed up the pc) recognize all of the fans?

Then I will probably switch over to 4-pin fans. So, for the fan hub thingy majig, would i plug it into the CPU fan socket? Then is there a socket on the hub specifically for the CPU fans?

Yes , there is a specific CPU fan header (and a optional CPU fan header). Plus you have 4 case fan headers for your case intake and exhaust fans.

Incidentally, if you have more than four case fans you can use fan cable splitters (4-pin) to add more fans.

If I used splitters, would the Motherboard BIOS still recognize them as separate fans? (Also, if there aren't enough ports on the hub, I could just use the rest of the ports on the motherboard, right? Even tho that would cause some bad cable management.

Yes you can use any or all of the fan headers. You should note that there is a limit on how many fans that you can put on a single header. This is dependent on the motherboard, but I would limit it to two fans per header.

Additional fans can be connected using a molex to fan splitter adapter, but these will not normally be variable RPM. You can also purchase bay mounted fan controllers.
