How many games support 4k/1440p

I wanna gonna get a 4k monitor and downscale to 1080p for games that are too demanding but I hear native resolutions look best. So I wanted to know how many games roughly support 4k? I'm sure you can't give me an exact number but say games from last gen that came out in 2010? Etc. Do only games that have come out around 2013 and later support 4k? If so I have doubts of going for 4k or even 1440p if only certain games are gonna look better while I'll be making most of my games that only support 1080p look worse.

What specs? Unless you are running a gtx1070 or higher you can forget decent framerates at 4k.

Most games I have found fo up to whatever res your monitor can handle. However, older games may sport lower res texture maps which will look poor at 1440+

A lot of games can "scale" 3D sampling size to 4K but most games don't have 4K textures. Battlefront has the best 4K mod pack, but i wouldn't say it's worth it to buy a 4K monitor, only really good for watching 4K movies and videos
