Hi there,

Well, yesterday I have broken my actual MOBO Asus z87 Deluxe by dropping it accidentally, and I’m locking to get this MOBO with AMD APU A4 6300. This configuration will be used for a mining project, and the question is, the MOBO in the picture has 3 slots for pcie, and I'm thinking to get it and install a two riser splitters on it. One will be gone to the pcie x16 and the other to the pcie x2.
The question is: the MOBO and APU can are support 8 GPU's?
I'm locking to this configuration because is very cheap, and I want to take profit of my 16 GB of RAM ddr3 that I have.

By the way, I have the intention to get a 1600w PSU from Aliexpress for mining. What do you think about that?

If you see that there is something wrong, please put me the cheapest configuration that can I get for my project.

Thanks for the help.

You know I am really not sure where to start without spending too much time here. First, mining is all about GPU, a simple celeron or APU will do. You won't need much RAM either, 4GB is enough.

Since you will be running 24/7 you will want a mobo with good power handling capacity, the Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-DS2 is nowhere near that.

And it being an old budget mobo I doubt the BIOS will support the splitting of the PCI-e x16 lanes

As far as getting a 1600W from Aliexpress, what kind of efficiency will it have and what kind of fault protection will it have? Mining is all...

As far as getting a 1600W from Aliexpress, what kind of efficiency will it have and what kind of fault protection will it have? Mining is all about hashrate to power consumption, low efficiency units will reduce or eliminate your profit. And there is very little profit to be had these days. And if it doesn't have good fault protection you could be looking at a very expensive pile of smoking trash if the PSU fails.

Last, have you looked at the cost of GPU's these days? Do you have an extra 2400 plus euros to spend at minimum? It will take you years to get back these initial costs.

Unless you have a very good understanding of computer technology I advise against getting into mining, it is not an easy thing to manage and be profitable at. You are late into the game and returns are dwindling, you may never make a profit.
