How many hdds and ssds can a dell inspiron 3647 handle

Hey, I just upgraded everything of my inspiron 3647 but i kept the same motherboard and changed the case

looking at your motherboard specifications I see 1 SATA Ports.. then that means it can handle 1 SSD's

interesting Dell reports Interface Type Serial ATA-600 qty 1 (probably Blue connector on picture), one will assume since not clearly indicated in specification pages but a clear difference in connector colour. the white SATA might be SATA-300 not optimal to run an SSD on that anyways it would basically run at pretty much the same speed as a 64MB cache HDD on it

System is shipped with one SATA drive. There is a header on the board to add a second. Bracket needed for mounting in optical bay.

Even on a SATA 3gbs a SSD is still a ton faster than a regular hard drive.
You can run 2 drives without using the disc drive.

2 sata ports mean that you can connect max 2 sata devices.

It's possible to get more sata ports with additional PCIE sata controller card.

as SkyNetRising said you will need to add an expansion card to get you more SATA drives into your system
but instead of 2 if you need so many , there are PCIE to 4 SATA or even 8 Sata as in below
