How many HDDs can this psu hold?

It's the EVGA SuperNOVA 750w G2. I was wondering...how many HDDs it could power while feeding something like a GTX 980 and an i7 4790.

A lot of it depends on the kinds of drives. The problem is not the watts the drive pull during regular use. It is startup. A regular drive can use 2 or 3 times the peak power of a green drive during boot. That's why servers with lots and lots of drivers stagger the boot of the drives. It allows you to get away with a lower power PSU and more drives. In your case, figure out how many green vs. regular drives you have and find the peak boot watts it pulls on the spec sheet for each kind of drive you own. Add them up and then add them to all the other stuff in your machine and you'll know it it's enough. I once had 20 regular drives connected to a 650w coolermaster PSU and on one boot it literally fizzled right in front of me. Keep in mind I had a low power graphics card in there too. That was really lame. Now I have 25 drives including about 6 green drives running off a 850w corsair PSU. No graphics card - just on board and I have had no probs.
