As said above, there are plenty of guides out there. If I were to offer some little I learned during my first build last year, that may not be mentioned in a typical guide:
-It's nice to have good lighting, preferably something like a lamp that you can place as needed. I only had a single overhead light, and found it was often blocked when I was hunched over the case
-Magnetic screwdriver(s) would have come in handy
-If it won't start after you have everything plugged in, try clearing the CMOS
-RAM can fit pretty snug; give it a firm push alternately on each end a few times to make sure it's seated properly.
