How many psu cables for gtx 770?

I have a corsair ax 850 that will have a gtx 770 attached tonight. The sata power cables included with this psu each contain dual 6+2 cable heads. Should I utilize two separate cables to connect the 770's 6 and 8 power pin inputs or will one cable be sufficient? cable management is very important to me, so I would prefer the second solution.

i have an ax860i and i used one dual head cable for my 7970

no problems

Most 770s require a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCIe power connection. You're all set with that power supply. Just use connections from the same cable coming off the PSU.

sata power cables have nothing to do with the gtx 770 they are for powering HDD + SSD + CD DRIVE

Higher wattage PSUs will have extra cables to power more that one GPU

I have a similar issue. I don't know if it is bad practice to hook my 8 pin and 6 pin off the same PCI-E cable both to the same GPU (GTX 770). I have only 600W PSU (CX600M) which is bronze 80+ certified, but I'm still not sure if this is bad practice or if I don't have enough power.

It would really help me if I could only use the one PCI-E cable into both slots.

Hi Joe some GPUs only need a 8 pin or 6 pin cable to power them, but the 770 needs extra power to power it that's why it has two sockets it might have 2x6 pin sockets or 1x6 and 1x8 pin sockets they are a few versions of the GTX770 and if your version has a 8 and 6 pin sockets on it then you will need to use a 8 and 6 pin cable or cables, some PSUs might have one cable with a 6 pin+2 pins joined together equals 8 pins and another cable with 6 pins, and some PSUs might have all the cables joined into one cable, if your PSU has a 6 pin+2 pin and a 6 pin cable all joined into one cable use it, all the 770s need 42 AMPS just make sure that your PSU can output more than 42 AMPS and if your 600W PSU is a good make you will be fine, my XFX 550 has a output of 44 AMPS.. i have tried to explain to anyone who might me stuck...
