Only in an either/or scenario i.e. if one pair is better for film tracks and the others are more audiophile in nature then switch between them. BUT unless you are an audiophile it'll not be worth the hassle.
The receiver is set up for three front speakers and three surround speakers. You do have the option of using 2 pairs of speakers as front left and right.
You could use a center surround speaker since you surrounds are in the corners. It would fill the dead area in the middle rear. Not critical.
If you try to use multiple pairs together as fronts but the result is usually not good.
I would suggest that rather than add more speakers you should consider better quality speakers starting with the three fronts. You can use one of the old ones as your surround center.
