Nothing is future proof.

Some people are happy using a 10+ year old cpu, others may upgrade ever new generation. If you use the pc for business then effeminacy gains of newer hardware can exceed the cost so although the hardware is still good it is not the most effective available.

Depends on what you're doing and what your requirements are.

If I want a CPU that can convert a Blu-Ray rip into an x264 profile I made at 200 FPS, it's already not future proof because it'll probably only do 60-80 FPS based on what my 5600X can do.

If I want to just type things up in Notepad and look at cat videos all day, the processor is basically indefinitely future proof.

It’s a bad choice for gaming. There are cheaper that perform better for gaming.
