How modern card's stack up

I've only really been on the graphics card watching scene a short time now (about a year), but I'm wondering how these fancy modern cards stackup to their older pioneers. At the moment I have a Voodoo2 (12Mb) and I'm giving some serious though to upgrading (not really sure what to though), but I'm curious as to the difference.

Granted, the modern card's have far more bells and whistles, but if you were to turn off all the FSAA, and tri-linear filtering etc., I'm wondering how fast they really go. I figure the bandwidth limitatoin would really start to show.

The difference will be enourmose trust me, i too have voodoo2 ,because the lack of AGP slot i think i will be upgrading to voodoo 5/4 i know 3dfx is dead, but it is eather that or buy a new board+cpu, if you do have AGP i suggest GeForce 2 Mx ,or the Geforce Ultra. My poor Voodoo2
choked on 3dmark and achived score of only 998!
