How much abuse can motherboards take?

Hey guys, noob question here:

I was installing a videocard today on my mobo (z87 - g45 msi). And i didn't notice there was a latch/lock to hold the card. I wanted to take the card out, so i kept pulling the card and moving it, but it wouldn't budge, until i noticed the lock and moved it so that the card would be free.

Everything is working ok, i'm just wondering if these motherboards are designed to take that abuse. A bit scared the pci-e slot is going to be loose now.

Anyways, i'm probably being paranoid.

Thank you all.

Should be fine if the system boots with the card in the lane. The lock is pretty much useless anyway if you don't move the PC much. Open up GPU-Z and make sure the card is running at the right bandwidth which should say "PCI-E 2.0 @ x16 2.0" Might be different on some boards.
