OK so obviosly the 6700K will be much better than the 6600K.

But my question is is it worth the 100+ pounds if I want to stream let's say worst case scenario Witcher 3,GTA V,Crysis 3 1080p 30fps ? (GPU is 970 which I would think is enough for 1080p 30fps)

Most importantly for me would be how much of a difference would it make in Planetside 2 ?

Now keeping that in mind would the 6700K be able to stream something like those games at 1080p 60fps with some OC ofc ?

Now the 970 probably won't hold up 60fps all the time on those games but if in the future I were to get a better GPU would it justify spending 100+ pounds on the CPU now or is it just better to get a 6600K and save some money if the 6700K won't hold 60 any-ways ?

PS: No xeon or amd suggestions this isn't a budget question this is a more of will I waste a 100 pounds for 5% performance.

Hi, for streaming I would go for I7, even 8core amd can do better than I5 in this case, more threads helps there a lot, I think the 970 can handle 60fps if you tweak some graphics settings
The individual core speeds when overclocked will be about the same. How high depends on your luck in getting a golden chip.

skylake oc statistics.
What percent can get an overclock at a sane 1.40v
I5-6600K
4.9 3%
4.8 23%
4.7 44%
4.6 85%

I7-6700K
4.8 12%
4.7 47%
4.6 91%

The value of the I7 is that it has 4 added hyperthreads and a higher stock clock rate.
For gaming, the hyperthreads will not be used; most games can only make effective use of 2-3 threads.

Assuming that you will overclock, the budget can be better spent elsewhere.

Do buy sufficient ram so all your apps can run concurrently without interference.
