How much better is this gpu?

right now i'm running a msi r7770 HD ghz ed.

but i wanna upgrade for recording gameplay.

I run a i7 4790k at stock and I think i wanna upgrade to a Sapphire dual-x r9 280... is this a good choice?

Nope if you are not going to buy now better to wait at next gen card like GTX 900 series its worth to buy than upgrading now

The r9 280 still gives a big boost in performance.
Make sure your psu can handle it.
