Consoles don't get laggy. Sometimes parts wear out and they die like power supplies, etc. But its not like a PC where as it gets older and software advances it gets laggy or slow. Games/Software for a console are always made to be optimized for a console. Take care of it and keep the fan openings clean and it will last you many years.

Well i mean it might get "laggy" if you let it get caked with dust so it cant cool itself anymore. If the cpu gets too hot it will throttle and lower its performance this could cause fps drops which isn't really lag but thats probably what you mean. Other than that possibility it should run as good as the day you bought it until something dies.
