I am going to measure my bottleneck on my system which I already saw in Metro Last light. GTA 5 was good at 8x MSAA but Last Light was quite bad.

How much CPU Usage is a bottleneck?

My system is

i5 7500
Gigabyte 2080 OC
16 GB Ram 1200 dual channel
Asus H110-A/M.2
Normal HDD

I will be updating to i7 7700 soon and maybe more RAM but just wanna test and see how CPU limitted I am

I was playing Last light and already was 30+ FPS on 4 x SSAA. Changing it to 2x was no much boost either.

Thanks

the 7500 will pretty much sit at 100% in any modern game... any GPU above a GTX1060 likely has more in the tank than the 7500's 4 threads can deliver.

If your minimum and average FPS is adequate (i.e., no stuttering)I'd not be concerned at task manager's displayed percentages.. but be under no fantasies that the 7500 is likely to make a good real time streaming and gaming rig, with 100 CHrome tabs open/fluidly updating, ....while watching a video on another monitor... :)

FYI, current Amazon pricing shows a 7700 at $314....; at that sort of goofy pricing, you could get an R5-3600 and a B450 mainboard, and be WELL ahead of the 'CPU/mainboard' game for a few years...(The R5-3600 will likely double your FPS in challenging/newer games that benefit from higher thread count, where 12 threads will work proverbial miracles)

hey thanks
Suprisingly I ran GTA 5 at all high settings including 8x MSAA and it was over 50-60 fps on my 74Hz overclocked monitor. at 1440p. Also Just ran Rainbox 6 Siege and also had good FPS on all max.

I dont want to change the mobo, so I will just get 7700 soon.
