Question How much does higher bit-depth matter in movies ?

I'm very new to this topic, so forgive me if this is a terribly newb question.

I'm wondering how much of a difference does it make to the human eye watching a 4k movie with an 8bit color depth image vs. 16bit? Would this make a noticeable difference or is this something that the human eye can't even see or maybe the difference is very slight?

I have never heard of 16 bit, but 10 bit is far superior in any movie that uses hdr as it's basically a prerequisite to do so. Most content does still run at 8 bit these with that being said.
