Hi there guys so i will recieve my new desktop this month, i want to know how much gain in performance i will have for BeamNG, GTA V, Minecraft and Sony Vegas Pro 16 video editing.

Current PC:
Intel Core i7 6700HQ 8C 8T 2.60GHz 3.50GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 4GB DDR3
8X2GB RAM DDR4 2133MHz
256GB M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD

New PC:
Intel Core i5 4590 4C 4T 3.30GHz 3.70GHz
MSI AMD Radeon R9 390 8GB GDDR5
4X2GB RAM DDR3 1333MHz
120GB SSD + 1TB HDD
Gigabyte Powerock 500w PSU

Thanks.

Its debatable. You are moving from a laptop with relatively high end parts for its time to a slightly older desktop with upper mid tier parts.

For gaming I would expect an pretty good increase, the r9-390 is a much better GPU than the 950m, and your 4590 is a perfectly capable CPU with similar single core CPU performance compared to the 6700hq.

For video editing it could go either way, your 6700hq had more threads which on paper could make it better than the 4590, but its a mobile CPU so I would wonder what clock speeds its able to maintain under load for long periods of time.

I think you'll probably be happy with the desktop, although I see others here think otherwise.

The only better performing part in the 'new' system is the GPU.
Everything else is a downgrade.

Thanks man, I'll switch since my laptop is giving problems like, lag on low end games, cpu at 95 degrees, i would like to switch and received this opportunity from a familiar.
