More like 200GB minimum for OS partition alone.I create a disk whit 120 GB and after i put Win 11 Pro i have 35 and it will goes less for sure.I use the PC for gaming and i whanna know if this will be enave.
I don't quite understand, what you mean by OC here.Tank you. Will you please answer me do you need minimum free space for the oc.
Like for example the oc and minimum 30 gigs free. Will the oc goes slow if the space in the drive in which is been place goes on red.
Operating System = OSOc is operating system.
What drives are in your system?Tank you.i will go on until i see a problem, and if i see any i will reinstall but that time on a bigger disk.
Windows 11. 64 Gigs or larger. Maybe pro takes up more space, I didn't look into it. I install 11 pro OS on one M.2. All apps docs, music on a second M.2.Hello.
Will somebody explain to me how much gb i need for win 11.

How Much Space Does Windows 11 Take Up?
It’s reasonable to believe that every new version of Windows gets bigger. New things on top of old things should make Windows 11 use more space, right? Maybe. Let’s see what you can do to make your Windows 11 install in less space. How Much Space Does Windows 11 Take? What Windows 11 needs andhelpdeskgeek.com
My pro with just-in-case apps is 133 Gigs. So, guessing at 100 gigs. Some have the need to be installed on the boot drive. That's all folks!64GB is a fools folly.
It never ends up 'only the OS'.
Never ever.
In light of todays drive prices, even 120GB is a bad choice.
And then you need sufficient free space for the Windows Feature Updates. Maybe another 30GB or so.My pro with just-in-case apps is 133 Gigs. So, guessing at 100 gigs. Some have the need to be installed on the boot drive. That's all folks!
I am a slave to MS. Joined their program you can't leave without a fresh installation. They are forever sending me beta garbage. Size always varies. Some things die until the next update, if you're lucky. Bad move on my part. Trying it once is good enough for me. Got 23H2 six months ago but who cares? And then you need sufficient free space for the Windows Feature Updates. Maybe another 30GB or so.
And of course, not filling up an SSD.
But lets see if we get some info on how this system is configured.
No..II have many disk in my system, but i have a 1 tb ssd which i put the OS.In that 1tb i make a disk with 120 gb disk space. There i put the OS.After i finish put all the programs consider windows i have 30gb free i that OS drive.
A separate physical drive, maybe.Because i know that is better os to be on a separate disk.
And after your advice i will format the 1tb disk adn put the os and white the rest of the free space i will put games.
Tank you.
What do you use this system for, and what other physical drives are in it?But will it be better to partition the 1tb drive or not
If 120GB works for you, sure.I use the pc only for gaming.Always my os and application are been fine on a 120gb drive. Before i install Win 11 my 120 gb drive was left whit 40 gb free after 1 year of use.Now i will have to activate the windows and for that i have to pay. That is why is soo important to me all to be fine(i just give you and explanation what was all about).
I whanna know if i make a partition will be better for the OS managmend and the information as a hole.I know that if the OC is on a separete drive the important OS file are away from the rest of the programs(games etc.),
So that is why i got confuse.
