I'm planning on placing a 7mm 2.5" HDD under the backplate of a graphics card. The graphics card's fans will be face-up, and the distance between the HDD and the backplate will be 5-10mm.
Let's say that the graphics card is 2080 Ti. I will be running the card at stock, I will be water cooling the card, and I will be undervolting it, so temperatures will be much lower than average air cooling.
Is it a good idea?
