How much humidity will negatively affect my PC?

Hi,

so its currently winter here and the air in my room is really dry from the cold air and heater. I just purchased a humidifier online to kind of fix this issue and also came across some forums stating that having a humidifier in the same room as my PC could potentially mess up the internal components if there is a high level of humidity(some say 50-60% while others say 40-55%). However I wasn't able to find just how much humidity is considered a high level hence I came to seek some advice here. Has anyone had any problems using a humidifier while having their PC operate in the same room? I made sure that the humidifier I bought had a limit to how humid the air could get but I'm a bit afraid that if I set it too high, my PC might break. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

It's really about the dew point.

It's best to keep it below 60% humidity. The real problem is when you turn off the computer and it cools down. If the humidifier is still running after the fact, it could cause condensation to form. But if the computer is running, it's not an issue.

Hi thanks for the quick reply,

I would've liked to lower it as much as possible if I didn't have really dry and itchy skin during winter season. Think I'll leave it at around 45%. Once again, thanks for the reply !

Ayyy I'm glad to hear that. Thanks for the reply
