Well, the title pretty much says it all. I kept my old cpu, and built a new system around it, and im not quite happy with the results. Here's my specs:
2500k oc'd to 4.2
gtx 770 sc with acx cooler
8g 1600 gskill ram
msi z77 g45 mobo
120g crucial m500 ssd
1tb seagate barracude hd
How much, if any, in game FPS would I gain going to this combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1461039
It would add 8gb ram, the 4670k, and good z87 mobo(which also really fits well with my color scheme)

More than your processor you need to think about changing you GPU if you want to change your gaming performance.

Going from 2500k to 4670k just to see an fps increase will show you maybe 2-3 fps maximum if you're lucky.

The GPU is the limiting factor in gaming, not the processor, under most circumstances.

Well, lets say you get the 4670k, you could just overclock it the 4.4-4.5 and boom, your PC would be faster. But just as Bassim said, you won't see that big of a difference in FPS. And if you aren't looking to OC past 4.2, why upgrade in the first place? But it will be more future proof getting the 4670k.

Hope this helped!

I've thought about going for SLI, not entirely sure that i want to go through the trouble. If i were to upgrade the video card, I would return the one i just bought(gotta love newegg), and go to a 780 or 780ti, which would cost about 400 more.
Now I'm kind of thinking I should just try to push the OC on my CPU a but further, was "taking it easy" on it, due to the fact its about 3 years old. And if I manage to push it too far and fry it, I can grab the 4670k combo.

Sounds like a great plan dude, and the 780 or 780 ti will be awesome for you.
