How much input lag on this Samsung?

I can't find an input lag test for my TV. I can hook it up through both HDMI and VGA, the model is LN40B640 its a 40" 1080p model.

I have been told I will not do as well in games do to the lag from my TV if it is over 20ms. Can someone help me find the info on my TV's input lag?

I have seen that as well, however response time is not the same thing.

Very few monitors have professional reviews that test it. I doubt you will find any tv reviews that test it because it really is a pc benchmark. You really shouldn't be concerned about it.

With all due respect people do test TV's for input lag especially when gaming on them. Right now I run fast paced games on my TV through my PC and from a test I did I am about 0.060 behind what I would be if I used a regular monitor. This may not seem like a whole lot but it can make things feel off.

your TV is 4ms response time and 120hz refresh rate, not sure what you mean by input lag.
anything <=5ms is a good response time for gaming/movies.

By input lag I mean the time it takes the screen to reflect the motion I do with the controller. If I turn a steering wheel left, the monitor is delayed at least 0.060s which equates to 4 frames behind. I am not sure if that makes sense to you guys. I figured out what I needed to on my own, but from everything I have been reading, input lag and response time are different.

that's got nothing to do with your TV specs, your TV doesn't lag behind the signal given to it.
the lag time between when you press a button to when it's change is reflectedin the video signal is determined by components in your computer - how powerful your CPU and GPU are, what level of detail the game is running at, even if you're using a wired or wireless controller/mouse/keyboard...

There always going to be some level of input lag for either a LCD monitor, LCD HDTV or Plasma TV. The only way to minimize input lag (at least after when the video signal leaves the graphics card) on a LCD HDTV is to put it "Game Mode" if there is such an option or to manually put to 60Hz mode which is he same thing.

When the HDTV is in 120Hz mode it basically does frame interpolation which doubles the numbers of frames received from the source. The primary use to make video play smoother for videos (such as movies) that are recorded at 24FPS instead of 30FPS. Basically in between every actual frame received from the source (60 frames per second) an interpolated frame is created which helps smooth out playback of videos with 24 FPS rates (like movies). This interpolation takes a tiny bit of time and it adds to the HDTV's input lag. Therefore all 120Hz and 240Hz LCD HDTVs should be switched to 60Hz mode when playing games.

Not sure about Plasma HDTVs since I don't really have an interest in them.

For absolutely no input lag after the video signal leaves the graphics card we need to go back to the old CRT "tube" TVs.

Yeah, I meant HDTVs not monitors... especially since there are no 240Hz monitor... at least in the consumer market.

Let me say it another way, very few models are tested. If you can't find a review on google, no one will know. You can try to look up similar models but that is about as much info as you will get.
