How much is my 3 year old gaming computer worth?

I'm not doing all that clikcing to find out what ya got :) .... next times names please

Rule of Thumb - Take your build cost and then subtract 10% .... then 5% for each month of age for 6 months (60% value at this point) ... then 10% for every 6 months thereafter.

So $2,000 - $200 (10%) - $600 (6 x 5%) - $1,000 (5 x 10%) = $200

Only a new car depreciates worse than computer hardware. Unlike a car though, your typical performance PC will become obsolete in 3-5 years.

Why are you looking to get rid of it? Is it too big, too dated? Are you moving away from PC gaming or is this to free up funds for a new build?

Either way I can't help because I'm across the pond but others may be able to assist.

I'm looking to get rid of it because it's so large... I'll be going off to college soon, and I need a smaller set up that won't be so complicated. But maybe it's not worth selling at all if some people are saying it's worth only $200-450 🙁

Okay xD lemme try this again.
Case: NZXT Phantom
HDDs: 150gb Velociraptor + WD (blue) 320gb
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
Ram: 4gb ddr3 1600mhz
CPU: i7 950 @ 3.07 (lol, i think i overclocked it to 3.4)
GPU: GTX 470
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
PSU: 1220W PSU
okay... I think that's everything again 😱

it's always going to be worth more to you than to somebody else.

What is the best way to sell it all in your view? Amazon? Ebay? A friend?
