Hey i've been trying to sell my alienware 13 r2 laptop but had no luck. I may have overpriced it a little. (I priced it at around $750)

It is slightly used, but nothing too bad just some very minor imperfections.
Specs:

CPU-i7-6500U
GPU-gtx 965M
Memory-8GB
Storage-HDD 500GB
Screen size-13.3"
Resolution-1080p

Looks like very few actually have come up for sale.

Note, on July 20th, the same laptop (albeit with a 512GB SSD) sold for $850

The one that sold at ~$850 had a ~$150 SSD upgrade in it, so yours is not worth the same.

So $750 isn't an unreasonable asking price. I wouldn't pay it, but I'm sure there are a few people out there that would.

How have you tried to sell it? Locally is a limited market, whereas eBay (and similar) opens your market up to the world.
The problem there though is, with eBay, you pay a commission. Not...

The problem there though is, with eBay, you pay a commission. Not 100% sure what it is on electronics, but for arguments sake, lets say it's 20%.
So, selling via eBay and getting your $750, then paying 20% commission nets you $600.

Remember, the one that sold on eBay on actually pocketed around $680.... so $600 seems pretty fair for yours.

So on that basis, you either need to sell it for $937.50 on eBay to net the same $750; A tough ask, I'm sure.
OR
You take your $750 you're likely to get on eBay and - 20% = $600, and try to sell it locally for $600 firm.

TL;DR $600 firm.

On "parts"? What's that defined as @ThePlaneAddict?
I would assume a laptop would fall under "systems" or some category like that.

Either way, same idea applies - maybe slightly modified depending on the commission eBay would take in any given category.

I think the 10% is universal. I've sold tons of stuff there and it's never been more than 10%. Might change depending on value of item or something, but I've sold things for 300 dollars or so, and you pay about 30 in fees + shipping if you offered it.

Yeah, you're right. Looks like it's 10% across the board (other than some select categories). I haven't sold on eBay myself, so wasn't 100% sure if the fees were consistent.

So yeah, the comparable laptop sold for $850, the seller netted $765 - with a $150 SSD upgrade in there. On that basis alone, you should probably net about $665 (deductible the cost of the SSD, adding back $50 for the 1TB HDD).... and $665 net is an eBay sale price of $740 or so.

Maybe bump your local price to $650?
